How to find your tennis grip size
Knowing your grip size is a must when purchasing a tennis racket. Having too big of a grip will cause unnecessary stress to your elbow, makes it harder to snap your wrist when applying extra spin and increases the difficulty of quickly alternating grips. On the opposite end of the spectrum, too small of a grip will require greater strength maintaining the racket in its proper position when hitting the ball. This also causes unnecessary stress to your elbow.
Here are 3 ways to find your tennis racket grip size
1. Measure
Align a ruler (on your dominant hand) to the horizontal crease in the palm of your hand and measuring up to the top of your middle finger while holding your fingers closed.

If your measurement is in between grip sizes, choose the smaller size. You can always add an over grip to bring it closer to your actual measurement.
2. Non dominant hand index finger test
While holding your racket using your dominant hand with an eastern forehand grip (refresher on how to grip a racket) try to see if you can fit your non-dominant hand's index finger in between your palm and the ring finger. If there isn't any space left to fit your index finger the grip is too small, if there is space left after placing your index finger the grip is too big.
